About Suzanne
For more than 35 years, Suzanne Wheeler has been creating spaces that feel both beautiful and truly lived in.
Her work began with homes—restoring, renovating, and reimagining them with a deep respect for their history. From historic properties on Cape Cod and Nantucket to commercial spaces, Suzanne has spent decades working hands-on in every layer of a project, from preservation painting to tile, wallpaper, and light carpentry. Her approach is thoughtful and intuitive, blending old and new in a way that feels natural and lasting.
Over time, her work expanded beyond interiors.
As the former owner of the Seahorse Café in Chatham, and through years of cooking with locally sourced ingredients and catering large events, Suzanne developed a love for bringing people together around the table. Today, she focuses on more intimate gatherings—luncheons, dinners, and coastal experiences like lobster bakes—whether in private homes or by the water, designed to feel relaxed, welcoming, and beautifully considered.
Nature is an essential part of her work as well. Through floral design for weddings, galas, and private homes—and with a growing focus on garden design—Suzanne creates spaces that feel connected to the seasons and their surroundings, inspired by the natural beauty of Cape Cod and Nantucket.
The Gilded Nest Studio brings together Suzanne’s work in interiors, gatherings, and florals—each rooted in thoughtful design and a true sense of home.
